Overview
The 2026 Topics in Children’s Health Conference is a two-morning hybrid CME event designed to strengthen collaboration between community primary care providers and pediatric subspecialists across the Intermountain West. Each session features a focused “Top 3 for PCPs” format, in which subspecialists highlight the three most common referral concerns they receive and provide practical guidance for evaluation, initial management, and co-management in the primary care setting. The conference will be hosted in Salt Lake City with live broadcast sites throughout the region, creating opportunities for in-person networking while expanding access to high-quality continuing education. By emphasizing actionable clinical updates, clear referral guidance, and relationship building, this activity supports coordinated, high-value pediatric care and ultimately improves outcomes for children and families.

Objectives
  1. Strengthen collaboration between primary care providers and pediatric subspecialists across the Intermountain West.
  2. Recognize the most common referral concerns encountered within pediatric subspecialties.
  3. Initiate appropriate, evidence-based evaluation and initial management in the primary care setting.
  4. Review clear referral thresholds and timing for specialty consultation.
  5. Apply effective co-management strategies to improve care coordination and health outcomes for children and families.
