Overview

An interactive module experience will guide you through the current research we have on PICS-p. You will be able to explore the multiple impacts of PICS-p on different elements of children's functioning as well as learn what you can do in a variety of different settings to address this. The module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Requirements: In order to complete the course, participants must read the course text, take the post-test with a passing rate of 80% and complete the evaluation.

Screen Resolution: A minimum resolution of 1024x768 can be used, but due to the large amount of data on many screens, the highest resolution available on your system will provide more usable space and make using CloudCME® more efficient.

Objectives
  1. Identify risk factors, clinical manifestations, and long-term impacts of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome in Pediatrics (PICS-p) across physical, cognitive, emotional, and social domains.
  2. Recognize evidence-based strategies used during and after PICU admission to prevent, screen for, and manage PICS-p.
  3. Apply trauma-informed and multidisciplinary approaches to support recovery and improve outcomes for pediatric survivors of critical illness and their families.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain Health, Intermountain Children's Health and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
