Overview
"Ask the Expert" is a live, web-based continuing medical education (CME) activity designed specifically for pediatricians practicing in Nevada. Each session will feature a leading specialist in a key area of pediatric medicine, offering their expertise on topics directly relevant to the challenges and common cases seen in general pediatric practice. Participants will have the unique opportunity to submit questions in advance and during the live session, ensuring that the content directly addresses their most pressing clinical queries. Our goal is to provide timely, evidence-based answers and practical guidance that pediatricians can immediately integrate into their daily practice, enhancing their diagnostic and management skills for improved patient outcomes across the state.

Objectives
  1. Implement at least one new practice change to meet specific HEDIS measures (e.g., adolescent well-care visits, childhood immunizations) or enhance adherence to AAP Bright Futures guidelines (e.g., developmental screening and oral health risk assessment).
  2. Review appropriate clinical and administrative tasks (e.g., vaccine administration, routine screening questionnaires, patient intake, and medication refills for stable conditions) to qualified support staff, thereby enabling the pediatrician to practice at the top of their license and focus on complex diagnostic, treatment, and counseling needs.
  3. Determine which pediatric conditions, previously referred to subspecialty care, can be effectively managed within their primary care practice, thereby reducing unnecessary and costly referrals.
  4. Establish at least one new professional connection with a peer pediatrician in Nevada, with the explicit aim of facilitating future collaboration on population health initiatives (e.g., sharing best practices for vaccination campaigns, coordinating efforts for addressing childhood obesity, or discussing regional health disparities).
