Overview
The Behavioral Health Service Line is excited to welcome you to the annual Behavioral Health Clinical Learning Day. This year, topics include Secondary Trauma in Psychiatry; Measurement Based Care; Approach to Agitation in Children; Treatment of Agitation in Adults, Autism Spectrum Across the Lifespan, and much more!

Objectives
  1. Describe the signs, symptoms, and professional impact of secondary traumatic stress among psychiatrists and psychiatric APPs.
  2. Explain the principles and clinical utility of measurement-based care, and evaluate how tools that can guide psychiatric treatment planning and monitoring.
  3. Review pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies for managing acute agitation in children, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder or neurodevelopmental conditions
  4. Discuss evidence-based approaches to agitation management in adults with dementia, intellectual disability, or other cognitive impairments, including medication safety and behavioral de-escalation techniques.
  5. Summarize key psychiatric comorbidities and treatment considerations for individuals with autism spectrum disorder across pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
  6. Discuss the background of the ASQ suicide screening tool and its utility in various clinical settings.

Registration

$70 registration fee.

 In-person attendance is encouraged, though an option for virtual attendance is included.


Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain Health, Intermountain Children’s Health, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Intermountain Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
