The purpose of this activity is to identify current research findings in cardiology as they relate to cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery and identify surgical clinical areas to launch outcome improvements. The mission is to provide a participatory forum for cardiovascular and thoracic clinicians to share the profession’s evidence-based ideas and share methods that can be used to improve patient outcomes, quality of care and cost effectiveness. The conference will also explore how process improvement leads to improved outcomes.

1. Discuss cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery evidence-based outcome improvements
2. Review evidence-based clinical data available in order to implement process improvement best practices
3. Discuss the future of cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery technologies and interventions
4. Identify costs containment initiatives to improve value

1. Participants will self-report an increase in their knowledge regarding evidence-based best practices for the cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgical patient
2. Participants will self-report one change they will implement into their practice or performance as a result of this educational activity

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation and Reimbursement Policy: Full (100%) registration reimbursement for cancellation more than 14 days prior to the beginning of the activity. Half (50%) registration reimbursement for cancellation between four (4) and fourteen (14) days prior to the beginning of the activity. No reimbursement for cancellation three (3) days or less prior to the beginning of the activity.
Exceptions: Exceptions may be allowed only under extenuating circumstances and with approval from the IPCE Director, IPCE Medical Director, and AVP for IPCE.

Intermountain Healthcare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
