This activity is intended for prescribers, pharmacists, legal counsel and other allied health professionals who have an interest in the Utah Medical Cannabis Law and how it will impact them. This activity will fulfill the qualified medical provider renewal education requirement from the state of Utah.

Instructions on how to complete course:

  • Go to the "Resources & Tests" tab
  • Complete the pre-tests prior to each section
  • Watch the video recordings and read attached documentation
  • Complete the post-tests associated with the recorded videos with a score of 75% or better  (You will have 2 attempts to pass each test)
  • Once all post-tests have been passed, fill out the evaluation found in your "My CE" area under the "Evaluations & Certificates" area.
  • Credit should then be automatically awarded on your transcript

  • Operating Systems: Any operating system that supports modern web browsers that adhere to the WC III standards.

  • Medical Cannabis Clinical Updates and Review of Cyclic Vomiting - ACPE UAN 0582-0000-22-078-H01-P (1.0 hours or 0.1 CEUs, application-based disease state management / drug therapy)
    • Compare available medical cannabis formulation allowed in the State of Utah and differentiate between tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) effects.
    • Use available medical cannabis resources for providers and patients regarding work related use of cannabis.
    • Evaluate available literature for cannabis use in cyclic vomiting syndrome.
  • Medical Cannabis in Psychiatry: Therapeutic Benefits and Adverse Effects - ACPE UAN 0582-0000-22-079-H01-P (1.0 hours or 0.1 CEUs, application-based disease state management / drug therapy)
    • Compare and contrast the pharmacologic profiles of key cannabinoids found in medical cannabis.
    • Summarize evidence supporting or discouraging medical cannabis use in psychiatry.
    • Appraise the appropriateness of medical cannabis use for psychiatric conditions given current limitations in published literature.
    • Explain neuropsychiatric adverse effects neurol associated with acute and chronic medical cannabis use.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Summarize and describe key details of the Utah Medical Cannabis Act
  2. Compare available formulation allowed in the State of Utah and differentiate between tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD)
  3. Review available literature for cannabis use in various qualifying conditions included in the Utah Medical Cannabis Act
  4. Describe the risks and benefits of medical cannabis use in special populations
  5. Discuss available medical cannabis resources for providers and patients

Intermountain Healthcare designates this enduring material for 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Accreditation for this educational program is provided by Intermountain Healthcare. Intermountain Healthcare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
