The Trauma Update Conference is intended for advanced practice providers, physicians, registered nurses and other healthcare providers caring for pediatric trauma patients. The presentations are case based and focus on current, state of the art, pediatric trauma care strategies and research.

  • Operating Systems: Any operating system that supports modern web browsers that adhere to the WC III standards.
  • Browsers: for best performance and compatibility, we recommend using the latest version of Firefox or Chrome.  The CloudCME® administration system will run in Internet Explorer, Safari and the iOS browser though performance and display of some items may vary.
  • Cookies: Cookies must be enabled in your browser to allow the system to operate. Cookies are not used to store any personal information, but are used by the program for basic screen management operations.
  • JavaScript: JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to allow the system to operate.  The only time JavaScript would not be enabled is if you work in and environment where the IT department has disabled JavaScript.
  • Security: Setting the browser security to Medium High or High may disable certain operations in CloudCME®.  Browser security should be set to the default, standard settings.
  • Screen Resolution: A minimum resolution of 1024x768 can be used, but due to the large amount of data on many screens, the highest resolution available on your system will provide more usable space and make using CloudCME® more efficient

Objectives
  1. Discuss current research and state-of-the-art approaches to management and treatment of pediatric trauma patients.
  2. Nurses will self-report that their knowledge surrounding the care of pediatric trauma patients increased as a result of this educational event.
  3. Attendees viewing the recorded session will pass the post-test at 100%.
  4. Nurses will self-report one change they will implement into their practice or performance as a result of this educational event.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint Providership of Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Intermountain Healthcare is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA Credit: Intermountain Healthcare designates this activity for a maximum of 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

  

Intermountain Healthcare is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is jointly provided by Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. This activity offers a maximum of 3.5 nursing contact hours.  Successful completion is viewing the digitally recorded segment, passing the post-test at 100%, and completing the evaluation.
