Intermountain Simulation Facilitator Course - February 2027

The Simulation Facilitator course is a three-day course designed to teach participants how to effectively facilitate simulations. This training will teach facilitators to assist in delivering quality simulation activities including facilitating skills, creating simulation activities that focus on strong objectives, simulation scenario design and many opportunities to practice.

1. Define and apply debriefing methods to simulation and demonstrate effective debriefing skills.
2. Identify five different simulation applications that use multiple levels of technology, fidelity and moulage.
3. Create objective-based simulation scenarios that include team training, making scenario objectives, pre-briefing and debriefing simulation activities.

1. Participants will self-report an increase in their confidence level after the course in developing simulation training scenarios, setting up scenarios, debriefing a simulation, and dealing with difficult situations involving a simulation experience.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain Health, Intermountain Children's Health, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Intermountain Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Intermountain Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).™  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Intermountain Health is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is jointly provided by Intermountain Health, Intermountain Children's Health, and Department of Pediatrics at the University of the University of Utah School of Medicine. This live activity offers a maximum of 21.5 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development. Successful completion is attending the entire event.
