We are excited to highlight best practice guidelines in trauma care through a conference hosted by Good Samaritan Hospital. This conference is a terrific way to boost your knowledge of trauma care, network with other healthcare professionals, and visit with vendors at our one-day educational event. Featured topics at the conference included high risk extrication, a trauma survivor panel, and traumatic brain injury management.


ACCME Objectives
  1. Apply evidence based trauma guidelines in the management of trauma patients including resuscitation, airway management and hemorrhage control.
  2. Develop the ability to prioritize and perform critical interventions based on the patient's condition
  3. Develop knowledge in assessing and managing pediatric trauma
  4. Create effective communication and teamwork among members of the trauma care team
  5. Develop strategies and protocols for managing trauma during MCI and disaster scenarios.
  6. Review how to evaluate outcomes of trauma care, including monitoring long term consequences in patient rehab of TBI patients

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Nurses will self-report the increased ability to implement best practice for trauma related injuries.
