Overview

The purpose of this symposium is to discuss current therapies in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, describe intermountain team-based care, and identify clinical areas for outcome improvements. The mission is to provide a participatory forum for cardiovascular clinicians to share the profession’s evidence-based ideas and methods that can be used for team-based quality improvement and value-based care.

Please note that many of our events are hybrid in nature - live and a virtual audience. As such photographs and footage will be taken throughout the event. If you do not want to be captured in these images which will only be used for accredited education to providers of the activity you have signed up for, please sit in the last two rooms of the venue.


ACCME Objectives
  1. Discuss cardiovascular and thoracic surgery outcome improvements.
  2. Review evidence-based clinical data available in order to implement process improvement best practices.
  3. Discuss the future of cardiothoracic surgery technologies and interventions.
  4. Identify initiatives to address value-based care.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Participants will self-report an increase in their knowledge regarding evidence-based best practices for the cardiothoracic surgical patient
  2. Participants will self-report one change they will implement into their practice or performance as a result of this educational activity

Registration

In-person and virtual attendance will be available. Please select attendance preference during registration.

Cancellation and Reimbursement Policy: Full (100%) registration reimbursement for cancellation more than 14 days prior to the beginning of the activity. Half (50%) registration reimbursement for cancellation between four (4) and fourteen (14) days prior to the beginning of the activity. No reimbursement for cancellation three (3) days or less prior to the beginning of the activity.
Exceptions: Exceptions may be allowed only under extenuating circumstances and with approval from the IPCE Director, IPCE Medical Director, and AVP for IPCE.


Accreditation
Intermountain Healthcare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Credit
Intermountain Healthcare designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.0* AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit
Intermountain Healthcare is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
