Overview
The Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is excited to host this year's annual SOAR Forum, building on efforts to reduce low-risk cesarean sections. This year, the forum will center on addressing disparities in care delivery. Nationally renowned speakers will explore critical topics, including improving medical communication, debriefing traumatic experiences, leveraging data to drive perinatal outcomes, and addressing mistreatment in maternal care.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify and address the impact of implicit bias and structural inequalities on cesarean section decision-making, fostering equitable care practices for all patients.
  2. Utilize the knowledge and tools necessary to accurately diagnose labor dystocia and make evidence-based decisions regarding cesarean sections, reducing unnecessary procedures and improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
  3. Interpret and apply clinical data to identify disparities in cesarean rates and implement strategies to close gaps in care delivery, ensuring fair and unbiased treatment across diverse patient populations.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Nurses will identify the psychological and emotional impacts of unplanned cesarean births and apply trauma-informed care practices to support patients in processing and recovering from birth-related trauma.
