This conference includes didactic lectures and hands on training on point of care ultrasound in pediatric and neonatal critical care settings.

Objectives
  1. Review point of care ultrasound fundamentals in pediatric and neonatal critical care practice.
  2. Discuss the strategies in pediatric and neonatal ultrasound image interpretation and diagnostic challenges.
  3. Develop ultrasound scanning techniques in guided and focused skill stations.

College of Nursing Simulation Lab: 10 South 2000 East (First Floor), Salt Lake City, UT 84112

The purpose of the ultrasound course is to learn how to perform and interpret pediatric and neonatal point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) with a two-day course. Participants will benefit from guided skill stations and interactive didactic presentations that will reinforce key learning points. 

The benefits of the ultrasound course are:
• Increase POCUS diagnostic skills and scanning proficiency
• 8 hours of hands-on learning, ensured with a 1:4 faculty learning ratio
• 3 hours case-based learning lectures
• Encourage integration of learned skills into your clinical practice

Registration will close on August 1st, 2024 for participants to complete pre-course requirements.

Pre-course Requirements: 
Participant must complete 5 Online POCUS Learning Modules prior to the course. Please contact Sasha Gordon at [email protected] to complete the learning modules. 

Cancellation and Reimbursement Policy:
Full (100%) registration reimbursement for cancellation more than 14 days prior to the beginning of the activity. Half (50%) registration reimbursement for cancellation between four (4) and fourteen (14) days prior to the beginning of the activity. No reimbursement for cancellation three (3) days or less prior to the beginning of the activity.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain Health, Intermountain Children's Health, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Intermountain Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
