Overview
Through an in-depth study of course material followed by immediate assessments, participants are able to identify areas of weakness that allow them to review the core information that is required for surgeons preparing for the competency written examination and to qualify to practice Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery.

Objectives
  1. Discuss diagnosis and treatment approaches in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery
  2. Review skills necessary for the management and care of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery patients.

Registration

An early-bird registration fee is available for $700 through July 31. The registration price will be $750 on August 1. Registration includes conference materials, meals, and daily transportation from hotel to course location and return. Payment is due at time of registration. Registration will close at the end of the day on August 30, 2024.

The cancellation and reimbursement policy allows for full (100%) registration reimbursement for cancellation more than fourteen (14) days prior to the beginning of the activity, half (50%) registration reimbursement for cancellation between four (4) and fourteen (14) days prior to the beginning of the activity, and no reimbursement for cancellation three (3) days or less prior to the beginning of the activity. Exemptions may be allowed only under extenuating circumstances and with approval from the IPCE Director, IPCE Medical Director, and VP for IPCE.

Accreditation

Intermountain Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Credit:
Intermountain Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 23.5* AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for the main conference and an addition 2* hours for the optional freestyle wetlab. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

TRANSPORTATION

As a participant in the Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Core Curriculum Review course, complimentary bus service will be provided to and from the conference location. This service is only available if you are staying at the Residence Inn Marriott Salt Lake City Murray.

*If you miss or choose not to ride the bus, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation.

If you choose to take a taxi to Intermountain Medical Center, the address is 5131 South Cottonwood Street (about 5300 South and 300 West). The Doty Family Education Center is located on the northwest side of the Intermountain Medical Center campus.
