Overview
During the period of transport, critically ill neonates and children are at risk from disease, injury, and the transport itself. This risk can be minimized by good communication between the referring and receiving providers, careful evaluation and management, anticipation of complications, and a well-equipped and well-trained team. This two-day course provides a comprehensive approach to clinical issues related to neonatal and pediatric transport.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Provide clinical care consistent with current neonatal and pediatric transport practice guidelines
  2. Outline management options for specific clinical disease states
  3. Discuss effects of the transport environment on the patient and provider

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Participants will self-report an increase in their knowledge related to the current guidelines of practice for specialty transport teams.
  2. Participants will self-report one change their will make to their practice or performance as a result of this educational events

Accreditation

Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Intermountain Life Flight.  Intermountain Healthcare is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  


AMA PRA Credit

Intermountain Healthcare designates this live activity for a maximum of 15* AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for the Main Conference and an additional 4 hours available for the optional pre-conference trauma workshop. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit

Intermountain Healthcare is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is being jointly provided by Intermountain Healthcare, Primary Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and Intermountain Life Flight. This educational activity offers 15* nursing contact hours. An additional 4 nursing contact hours are available for the optional pre-conference trauma workshop. Successful completion is claiming credit only for the session(s) attended.


Respiratory Care Credit

Primary Children’s Hospital has submitted an application for 19* hours to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists. Please provide AARC membership number during registration process.
