Kristin Dascomb completed her clinical training in New Orleans at Charity Hospital in Medicine and Pediatrics, and PhD in Epidemiology at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.  Her chief year was challenging, as she worked in University Hospital during Hurricane Katrina, spending 6 days supporting patients of all ages, surgical procedures, and evacuation protocols.  Once residency was completed, she completed Infectious Diseases fellowship at University of Utah Hospital.  She rotated with the Intermountain Division of Clinical Epidemiology and was recruited to support Hospital Epidemiology. During that time, she mentored several ID fellows to successful fellowship research projects.  After supporting the Central Region Infection Preventionists for several years, she was asked to support system medical direction for Infection Prevention.  Kristin also supports a clinical consultative role for Employee Health, and the Emergency Preparedness Unit.
