Dr. Yoder is the August L (Larry) Jung Professor and Division Chief for Neonatology at the University of Utah. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Yoder did his residency & fellowship in the Air Force at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. He has been involved in laboratory based and translational research, as well as clinical trials research for over 40 years. He directed the Neonatal Primate Laboratory at Southwest Foundation in San Antonio TX for 10 years and currently collaborates in the premature lamb lab of Dr. Kurt Albertine. Dr. Yoder has served as the Utah site PI for the NICHD Neonatal Research Network. He has led and participated in numerous randomized trials, with a focus on optimizing the management and outcomes of neonates with a variety of lung disorders including preterm respiratory distress, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, meconium aspiration and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
