Bio for Lee McCann, M.D.Cardiothoracic Surgery


After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. McCann attended medical school at the University of Texas. He did general surgical training at University Hospital in Syracuse, New York with a two-year research fellowship in cardiac critical care. Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery was completed at Baylor College of Medicine’s DeBakey Heart Center and M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Prior to coming to Intermountain, he was Assistant Professor of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. Active in surgical education, he serves as co-director of the CORE Curriculum Review Course taught in Salt Lake City, Utah and London, UK.  Dr. McCann is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.  He is Board Certified in general and thoracic surgery and specializes in thoracic oncology and adult cardiac surgery.
