I am proud to say that I am a Utah native. I was born in Orem, Utah and raised in Sandy, Utah. I graduated from Weber State University in 1982 with my associate’s degree. It is crazy to think that I have been a registered nurse for 40 years! I have seen a lot of changes over the years. I was able to go back to school in 2012 and earn my bachelor’s degree and then again in 2017 to earn my master’s degree in nursing education.

I have been a bedside emergency room nurse for most of my nursing career. I am currently the Injury Prevention and Trauma Outreach coordinator for Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. The main focus of my job is driven by the top three mechanisms of trauma. Currently those are ground level falls, motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents. But the best thing about this job is that I am in the community teaching all things injury prevention, including Stop the Bleed.  I feel like it creates opportunities for me to educate and hopefully have a true impact on reducing trauma. I can honestly say that I love my job.

I am married and have 4 amazing children. I am the proud grandma of three baby boys. I love reading, playing the piano and spending time exploring the beauty of Utah.
